I gave this speech as a 21 year-old senior in university.
This is where I began my public “confidence work.”
Barnard College of Columbia University, Cicero Speech Contest Winner.
Amanda was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY,
and now lives in Philadelphia. She is a proud
2014 graduate of Barnard, the women's college
of Columbia University, and holds a B.A. in Religion.
While there, Amanda realized her love and talent for public speaking; she won the Cicero Speech Contest, delivering a self-written address on positive self-talk
and body image. The content and delivery of this speech ultimately laid the groundwork for
THE C O N F I D E N C E CLASS (or TCC for short).
Amanda is a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, and founded TCC after she moved to Hawaii to teach yoga in 2015.
Amanda is a high energy people-person who can relate to just about anyone. She loves to teach women and children; facilitate group learning; and also runs the event series that
she founded, The Maggid: Jewish Storytelling Nights.
Amanda believes that self-assured girls
become self-assured women, so long as
they are given the tools and the path.
This is the path, and this is the Class.
"I cannot control what other people think of me;
I can only control what I think of myself."
